5 inch gauge LNER B1 4-6-0 "Gnu"

A well-built 5 inch gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans' popular "Springbok" design; the engine has come to us recently as part of a small collection, its previous owner's preferred engine for running at the club (if you can remember that far back, when we used to go out and run steam engines in the park...)

The engine steams freely and runs well, notching up in either direction. Paintwork presents well, of "working" rather than "exhibition" finish.

Boiler is a commercially built job by the estimable Trevor Tremblen of Swindon Boilers, silver soldered throughout and fitted with radiant superheaters. It's had recent hydraulic and steam tests, with certification issued for same.
