5 inch gauge Polly V 2-6-0T

We sold this engine back in June 2024 - a reliable club runner in the intervening years, it's recently come back to us as the owner downsizes to the charming world of 16mm modelling.

The words below are from 2024, the photographs opposite and video taken in recent times - it remains in good condition throughout, with fresh commercial hydraulic & steam certificates supplied.

A 5 inch gauge Polly V 2-6-0, one of the largest models in their range, its combination of power and adhesive weight ideal for club running or the larger garden railway.

The CE-marked boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued - particularly water-tight on hydraulic test, there was barely a drip from its fittings - we were impressed! The fusible plug has been removed, cleaned and inspected, the lubricator flushed out, serviced and tested.

A well-sorted engine which steams freely without need for the blower on the rolling road; it runs very well in either direction with crisp, even exhaust beats.

The paintwork remains presentable, with something of a patina of honest use about it - we'd leave it exactly the way it is!
