5 inch gauge Reeves Girt

Extremely well made example of the freelance 0-6-0 tank locomotive "Gert" designed by A.R.Donaldson for Reeves in the 1950s - the company supply drawings and castings for this popular engine to this day.

The engine is fitted with a silver-soldered copper boiler fed by axle-driven pump with bypass and auxiliary hand pump in the water tank. Two outside cylinders with inside slide valves, actuated by Stephenson's valve gear.

This engine is in particularly fine condition, both mechnically and cosmetically and comes complete with a set of firing irons, flue brush and a fitted wooden transit case.
