6 inch scale Ruston Proctor SD steam tractor

A well built 6 inch scale Ruston Proctor SD 3 ton steam tractor. We've had these in all sizes over the years, from 2 inch scale to full size.

We sold this one back in 2017 (you can see the original listing in the archive here), it's recently come back to us having been rallied regularly since that time, with club boiler inspections each year.

The engine had a cladding off inspection in 2019, it was hydraulic and steam tested in July 2021. The engine came to us with club certification expiring July 2023. However, on inspection in the workshop here we found thinning of the firebox crown around the fusible plug bush - not uncommon, particularly in full-size engines, but it will require repair.

We've had the engine in steam today - it steams freely and runs quietly, with well-defined exhaust beats, there's some video of Connor risking the midday sun to give it a run here.

Complete with tender-mounted driving seat and passenger trolley, the engine is road-registered with a V5 document. It's in good mechanical order, paintwork was well done in the first place and remains in nice condition.
