7 1/4 inch gauge "Locomotion" boiler & castings

A quantity of castings and commercially built boiler for Reeves' "Locomotion No.1", designed by David Piddington, together with a set of drawings.

As the designer rather dryly notes on the drawings:

"This adaption of Locomotion is not intended to be a fine scale version of the famous prototype made by Robert Stephenson & Co in 1825, nor of the working replica in the UK National Collection. It is intended, however, that this replica will have most of the original's characteristics, whilst at the same time be a practical, driver-hauling, coal fired, engineering model. Due to lack of adhesion Locomotion will be an unlikely passenger hauler".
