1 1/2 inch scale Allchin "Royal Chester"

A nicely made example of an Allchin agricultural engine to Bill Hughes' detailed "Royal Chester" design.

An older engine, fit and finish of machined parts is good, the engine runs well in either direction. Nicely painted and lined originally, the paintwork remains in good condition with an appealing patina.

Whilst the boiler showed no signs of leaks or deflection on a preliminary hydraulic test at working pressure prior to running on air, in deference to its age and condition we have not stripped it to carry out the twice working pressure shell test required in the absence of previous boiler history.
