1 1/2 inch scale Allchin "Royal Chester"

A 1 1/2 inch gauge Allchin to the detailed "Royal Chester" design by Bill Hughes.

Underneath the rather garish red paint is a well-made engine which runs well in both directions. Fit and finish of machined parts is crisp, pipework and fittings are reminiscent of an older, less detailed era.

The nutted & caulked copper boiler has had a twice working pressure test, showing no signs of leaks or deflection.

Some detailing is missing including the brake, spud pan, running board, winch guide, ashpan & grate and governor.
