1 inch scale "Minnie" traction engine

A particularly well made 1 inch scale traction engine, built to Len Mason's popular "Minnie" design.

Silver soldered copper boiler, working pressure 50psi. Twin Salter safety valves, feed by crankshaft-driven pump with bypass. Single cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's valve gear, pole reverser on footplate. Mechanical lubricator driven from valve rod. Two speed transmission, winch behind nearside rear wheel with tender-mounted fairleads.

Many "Minnies are attempted by beginners, sometime the fit and finish leaves something to be desired. This one is beautifully put together and runs very smoothly down to a slow tickover.
