2 1/2 inch gauge Bagnall "Polar Bear" with commercial boiler

An early stage 2 1/2 inch gauge Bagnall 2-4-0ST "Polar Bear", the prototype supplied new to the Groudle Glen Railway on the Isle of Man along with sister engine "Sea Lion" - both survive in preservation.

Work to date comprises a neatly made set of frames, erected with stretchers, buffer beams and running boards. There is laser cut platework for the cab, a set of castings and a silver soldered copper boiler.
