SECOND HAND
7279
A particularly nicely made 2 1/2 inch gauge Mogul to LBSC's pre-war "Dyak" design - it was serialised in "Model Engineer" beginning in 1934. This is an older engine (although not quite that old), well made and unused for many years - it's come to us from the son of the late builder. Everything turns over freely, fit and finish of the motionwork and valve gear is good with little apparent wear. Boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test, the engine is ready either for the bookshelf or recommissioning for another lease of life on the track.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, single element flue tube superheater. Feed by axle and duplex steam pumps, with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaerts gear with screw reverser in the cab, cab-operated drain cocks. There's a good-sized whistle under the footplate running one side of the cab to the other.
Complete with a carrying frame for the tender and crate for the engine.
