2 1/2 inch gauge Southern Pacific 4-6-2

A 2 1/2 inch gauge freelance Pacific with bogie tender to LBSC's "Fayette" design, in "barn find" condition.

Complete, it rolls freely and runs on air nicely in either direction, although the chassis now requires some rebushing to motionwork and valve gear.

The pressure gauge is soldered in rather than fitted with unions so, in deference to its age and wellbeing, we only pumped the boiler up to 80psi at which pressure it appeared leak free - once off the frames and with cladding removed, it will need a twice working pressure shell test prior to recommissioning.

A complete strip, overhaul and repaint required, but a worthwhile project - underneath the muck and grotty paintwork there's well-made, rather handsome engine waiting to be given a new lease of life.
