2 inch scale Clayton steam wagon

A nicely built 2 inch scale Clayton steam wagon to Robin Dyer's popular design, attractively turned out as a flat bed dray lorry rather than the more common articulated wagon and trailer.

This one has come to us from an experienced model engineer, along with a 2 inch scale Burrell Gold Medal tractor.

The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued. The original safety valves, never the most effective, have been replaced by the previous owner with a pair of Gordon Smith type pop valves, mounted on a new, purpose-built manifold.

The engine runs well on air, appearing to have had little use from new.
