3 1/2 inch gauge Ffestiniog Railway 0-4-0T "George"

An early stage 0-4-0 tank locomotive to Don Young's quaint "George" design, his tribute to the Ffestiniog Railway's 150th anniversary and based on the England engines as originally delivered (by railway from George England's works in London, then horse and cart to Boston Lodge Works).

Work to date comprises a nicely machined and assembled rolling chassis, complete with pumps, eccentric straps and sheaves, gunmetal cylinders bored with machined valve chests and covers, fabricated motion brackets and some machined motionwork, along with tender wheels.

There are unmachined castings for the smokebox door and ring, chimney in cast iron, inner dome and ring along with the magnificent brass outer dome.

The copper boiler kit includes plates, tube, stays and foundation ring material, along with steel flanging formers.

Complete with a new set of drawings and copies of "Locomotives Large and Small" covering construction.
