3 1/2 inch gauge "Bantam Cock"

A venerable 3 1/2 inch gauge LNER V4 to LBSC's "Bantam Cock" design, recently arrived with us in part exchange for a 5 inch gauge locomotive.

Built in 1965 and quite possibly still in its original paintwork. Mechanically the locomotive is sound, it still goes like the clappers! It's come to us having been in regular club use until last year, the last steam test expiring in September 2018.

Boiler is silver soldered, with screwed and nutted firebox stays, built to LBSC's "words and music" with superheaters and combustion chamber. It's had a hydraulic test in recent days with certificate issued for same, we would warranty the boiler as sound.

The engine has come with a large quantity of club history dating back to 2006, when it had a test with boiler off the frames. At that time it was owned by a highly experienced steam man, well known for his exploits rallying a full-size Foden steam wagon as well as building many good model traction engines, wagons and locomotives.

Complete with a binder of construction articles from "Mechanics" magazine, blueprints, set of new nameplates and a pair of well-made transport boxes.
