3 1/2 inch gauge BR Standard Class 7 No.70004 "William Shakespeare"

An exceptionally well-built 3 1/2 inch gauge "Britannia", based on scaled down 5 inch gauge drawings it's considerably closer to prototype than the LBSC design.

Work to date is to an excellent standard - fit and finish of machined parts is super, the chassis is silky smooth to turn over.

The commercially built CE-marked boiler by Steam Technology is a beautifully made combustion chamber job, TIG-welded with silvered soldered bushes.

We rate this one at better than 90% complete. There is some remaining work required on the locomotive including making and fitting an inner dome cover, pinning piston rods to crossheads and provision of various cab fittings. The tender body requires mounting on the chassis, with detailing work to complete.

There is a box of loose parts including smoke deflectors, works and tender plates, couplings, dummy chime whistle, hand pump and profiled parts for the tender.
