3 1/2 inch gauge freelance 2-6-2

You'll probably not have seen one of these before...

A 3 1/2 inch gauge 2-6-2 tender locomotive, the unlikely love child of "Betty" - LBSC's Southern "Mongoliper" design - and a narrow gauge 0-4-0ST to Martin Evans' "Conway" design which donated the boiler and influenced the cab proportions.

We have some history for the engine, with the club hydraulic certificate expiring November 2019. We've tested the boiler in the last few days, still sound and warrantied as such.

The engine has been running in the recent past according to the previous owner, who part exchanged it for a 5 inch gauge tank engine.

Regulator and wet header both leak slightly, it runs well backwards but not forwards - we can only assume he ran everywhere in reverse, a decent pair of wing mirrors would be a worthwhile investment.

Complete with a set of "Betty" drawings and a copy of the construction manual for that locomotive.
