3 1/2 inch gauge GNR Atlantic "Maisie"

An exceptionally well built 3 1/2 inch gauge Great Northern Railway large-boilered Atlantic to LBSC's popular "Maisie" design.

Standard of machining, platework and painting is to a high standard throughout, fit and finish of the valve gear and motionwork is excellent. The engine appears to have had very lttle use, showing little sign of either mechanical or cosmetic wear.

There are well-executed practical details throughout, indicating the work of an experienced locomotive builder: firebox damper controlled by a screw handle on the footplate; latching drain cock handle; blowdown neatly piped down from the backhead to just above rail level; mechanical lubricator with double-size tank for extended running.

The boiler has been neatly flanged and assembled with good solder penetration, it has had a twice working pressure shell test followed by a steam test with certification issued for same.

A particularly nice example, we're rather taken with this one; it steams freely and runs particularly well - there's some video of it on the rolling road here.
