3 1/2 inch gauge GNR Atlantic

A 3 1/2 inch gauge GNR Atlantic to LBSC's "Maisie" design, an older engine, nicely painted and presented on a length of show track.

A finely made engine, fit and finish is very good throughout - we like the prototypical split big end bearings, dummy washouts on the boiler cladding and neatly piped up backhead. The engine runs well on air, with some blow by - the effect, we suspect, of spending many years on display. Steaming the engine would, no doubt, improve its running.

The boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test. Structurally sound, however there is a persistent weep from the soldered inner dome joint, which would require the boiler to be lifted from the frames and stripped to repair.
