An older engine, it rolls freely and runs well in either direction on air, with slight leakage past pistons.
The combustion chamber boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test - although appearing structurally sound, there is one firebox stay with a persistent weep that requires attention, with a handful of others that would take up under steam.
