3 1/2 inch gauge LMS Black 5

An ancient 3 1/2 inch gauge Black 5 to LBSC's "Doris" design, this one came to us as part of a larger collection of running and part-built locomotives acquired and/or built over many years by a father and son, both model engineers.

Free to turn over, the engine runs on air in both directions; motionwork and valve gear has wear in just about every joint, the drain cocks are missing.

Untested, the boiler has signs of verdigris on the throatplate, with what appears to be a brazed and calked barrel seam.
