3 1/2 inch gauge LMS Mogul

A 3 1/2 inch gauge LMS Mogul to LBSC's "Princess Marina" design, an older engine by a highly capable engineer with several good engines to his credit, known at his club for their excellent performance on the track.

Unused in some years, the engine has come to us from the late builder's family along with three other locomotives. We have club history for the boiler, which has also had a recent hydraulic test with new certification issued.

The engine runs well in both directions, the reverser having a quick start thread which makes for easy operation on the track. We like the practical details - the grate and ashpan have a very neat fastening with a spring retainer engaging on the axlebox keeps, the locomotive and tender are both vacuum-braked, with a reservoir neatly tucked in behind the mechanical lubricator.

In running order although requiring some work to recommission including fitting a new pressure gauge and servicing the regulator which leaked on test.
