3 1/2 inch gauge LNER V4 2-6-2 "Bantam Cock"

An ancient example of LBSC's "Bantam Cock" design, based on Gresley's V4 Mogul. In build for more than fifty years, the previous owner - a man now in his tenth decade - has recently decided to rationalise the projects in his workshop.

Work to date comprises a rolling chassis with motionwork and smokebox assembly - a box of parts with the engine contains much of the valve gear.

Boiler is copper, brazed with calked firebox stays.

The tender is pretty much complete, with brass tank on a steel chassis.

Complete with assorted photographs of the full size engine and some venerable drawings, including a blueprint general arrangement.
