3 1/2 inch gauge Maxwell Hemmens "Locomotion"

A 3 ½ inch gauge, coal-fired model of Stephenson's “Locomotion No.1”, commercially built by Maxwell Hemmens during the 1980s to a highly-detailed, exhibition standard – I had one of their “Rockets” in a year or two back, there are some pictures in the archive here.

The model is suspended just above a length of scale track such that the wheels can be turned to see the intricate motionwork in operation.

Somewhat dusty, it has recently come to light having spent many years in the original owner's attic.
