3 1/2 inch gauge North Staffordshire Railway 2-4-2T

A 3 1/2 inch gauge North Staffordshire 2-4-2T; originally one of a class of 21 "Class B" 2-4-0 tank locomotives built at their Stoke works between 1881 and 1895, three were subsequently converted to 2-4-2T configuration by the addition of a trailing pony truck.

This one is the last engine to come to us from a collection which included the 5 inch gauge "Ajax" 0-4-0T and Standard Class 2 tank we sold in 2019.

An old model, it's been on display for many years - chassis is dry and consequently stiff to turn over, although the engine appears to have been test steamed at some time in the distant past.
