3 1/2 inch gauge OS "Britannia"

Given the high quality - and associated cost - of OS locomotives when they were new, it's rare to see one in "barn find" condition like this one, having been stored in an attic for many years.

It's come to us from the family of the late owner; the engine rolls freely and runs well on air, the boiler appears sound on a twice working pressure hydraulic test and is warrantied as such, with no signs of leaks or deflection. However, it has come to us without paperwork and would require lifting from the frames for a cladding off inspection before new certification could be issued.

The paintwork is shabby, with some rust showing through in places. Lining is largely missing, along with parts of the cabside number transfers.

A worthwhile project, with the potential to make a fine engine if stripped and repainted - it requires time rather than money spending on it.
