3 1/2 inch gauge "Virginia" 4-4-0

A well-built 3 1/2 inch gauge American 4-4-0 to LBSC's popular "Virginia" design, the work of a highly experienced model engineer who, over forty years built just about everything from a 2 1/2 inch gauge "Dyak" to 7 1/4 inch gauge LNER A4.

An older engine, paintwork is "lived in" although the engine itself still steam freely and runs well - there's a clip of it running outside the workshop here., notching up fully in forwards and a useful couple of notches in reverse.

Safety valves open at 90psi and drop 10psi before closing cleanly with a "pop", water feeds all work well. The regulator leaks past slightly.

Complete with drawings and construction manual with LBSC's "words & music".
