3 1/2 inch narrow gauge 0-6-0T with tipper truck tender

A 3 1/2 inch narrow gauge 0-6-0T, of particularly pleasing proportions with outside frames and flycranks, well painted and lined and complete with a tipper truck style tender.

In the main a finely made model; fit and finish of motionwork and valve is good, it turns over freely and runs on air - there's some video of it running on the rolling road in the workshop here.

Boiler is something of an enigma - it's apparently been steamed in the past and, on a preliminary hydraulic test at 120psi shows no sign of leaking. However, it's of thin gauge material and, indeed, the inner firebox has taken a distinctive set from when, presumably, it was originally tested.

The "tipper truck" tender has a removable top plate for filling, with brass gauze filter in the bottom.

Keen-eyed readers will have noticed (as we didn't) that the chimney is on back to front. It simply slides over an extension to the petticoat pipe, so was the work of moments to pull off, reverse and refit. By which time the sun had gone in and the camera was back in its box...
