32/45mm gauge Roundhouse "Lady Anne"

From 1982 to 1994 Roundhouse produced spirit-fired versions of their engines. Whilst they claimed spirit-firing to be every bit the equal of gas-firing, difficulty in obtaining good quality fuel combined with more demands of the operator led to it being phased out.

This is an early example of their highly successful "Lady Anne" design, with spirit-fired boiler - the first we've had. We have to say we agree with Roundhouse - it steams very freely and runs nicely in both directions, the four-wick burner more than adequate for the steam demands of the chassis.

The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.
