A 45mm gauge LNER J39, built from one of the highly-regarded Barrett Engineering kits.
We were rather taken with this one. A slip-eccentric, spirit-fired locomotive with manual control; in steam it proved a very capable performer, running well in both directions. The hand pump is particularly effective, the blower close to gale force on the Beaufort scale.
The burner is highly effective, needing a judicious hand on the fuel valve to avoid trackside fires!
