5 inch gauge "Britannia" with commercial boiler

A well-advanced 5 inch gauge "Britannia", a project that has spent many years in storage, only recently seeing the light of day when we collected a whole attic full of engines from Scotland.

Built by a prolific model engineer whose interests included locomotives and stationary engines, work to date is to a good standard and comprises rolling chassis for both locomotive and tender; smokebox assembly fitted and cylinders machined and assembled.

The silver soldered copper combustion chamber boiler was supplied new by Norman Spink some thirty years ago - somewhat grubby, however unused from new and dry stored since delivery.
