5 inch gauge Class 37

A 5 inch gauge Class 37 battery electric, little used from new and complete with batteries.

One of the most comprehensively equipped and nicely finished examples we've seen, its specification in summary:

• Four motors with 24V 4QD controller
• 4QD hand controller and radio control
• 2 x 50Ah batteries with charger
• Fully detailed body, direction exterior lighting, interior lights
• Mtronic sound card with bass reflex speakers (which rumble most convincingly at tickover)
• Smoke unit
• High definiton colour video cameras at each end with 5.8GHz transmitter
• 7 inch video screen for camera

The locomotive can be driven conventionally from a driving truck with hand held remote control, alternatively by radio control with driver's view of the road ahead from the forward mounted camera - you can see it in action from the driver's perspective here.

Having seen and experienced the system in operation, we're pretty sure that some day all electric locomotives will be equipped like this! But for now, the builder believes this one is unique.
