5 inch gauge Class 73 battery electric

A 5 inch gauge Class 73 battery electric, not a type we see often (and one of the few not yet represented in the archive) - more's the pity, as we think it's got a lovely vintage '60s look to it!

Based on a commercially-produced body with scratch-built chassis, the builder included wiring for lights making installation straightforward if required.

Fitted with a pair of 12V, 24Ah batteries with Parkside 100 amp controller powering four 12 volts motors - two per bogie - with a remote hand controller.

Tested, it runs well in either direction, there is a two tone horn fitted.
