5 inch gauge Crampton six-wheel tender

A finely made 5 inch gauge six-wheel tender, as carried by the LNWR 2-2-2-2 "Liverpool" in 1847 by Bury, Curtis and Kennedy to Thomas Crampton's design.

Rather a sad story with this one - on the demise of its builder, the locomotive and its tender became separated, the tender subsequently disposed of at a time when the whereabouts of the locomotive was unknown.

In good condition, with minor paint and rivet damage at the sole plate on one side.

If considering building one of these elegant early machines, the tender would save a good deal of work, whilst allowing a builder to concentrate on the interesting bits.

Alternatively, if you have a Crampton without a tender, having water fittings matching those fitted to this one let us know - it would be nice to reunite them.
