5 inch gauge Deltic battery electric

We last sold this one in 2014, in those days it was a hybrid petrol-electric locomotive, robustly constructed with all steel body - there are some pictures of it in the archive here.

Whilst the petrol engine worked well, the electrical side of things was fiendishly complicated - as a result, the last owner converted it to all electric drive.

Bogies are fitted with a total of six motors driving through all metal gears, wired in series/parallel combination for 24 volt operation using a Parkside controller. There is an Mtronics sound board fitted, along with working front lights and indicator board. The original vacuum pump arrangement has been retained.

Further work has included detailing the body, with a set of dummy windscreen wipers yet to be fitted. The locomotive has been run on test rollers since conversion to check operation.

Requires a pair of 12 volt batteries.
