5 inch gauge GNR Stirling 8 foot single

Regular readers will know that we regard the prototype as one of the all-stars of locomotive design. My father had a particularly fine 7 1/4 inch gauge example on display in his study throughout my childhood - it left a great impression, I was pleased to add a 45mm gauge version of the same to my desk for a spell a few years ago.

This has come to us from a returning customer and experienced model engineer, responsible for a kit-built 5 inch gauge LNER A4 and scratch-built Hunslet.

The boiler is commercially made by GB Boilers with original test paperwork, the chassis turns over freely.
