5 inch gauge GWR 14XX 0-4-2T steam outline battery-electric

A part-built 5 inch gauge steam outline GWR 14XX 0-4-2T, the work of an experienced model engineer with several other locomotives, both steam and steam outline, to his credit.

Fitted with an MY1052Z2 12 volt motor/gearbox unit, chain-driven to the centre axle, the locomotive runs in both directions although will require a battery. The box under the chimney is a smoke generator, just like you used to get on your OO-gauge Hornby trains!

There is a remote handset with speed control and whistle button - the speed control currently appears only to work as an on/off switch, we suspect a faulty potentiometer which will require replacement.

The locomotive is fitted with a MyLocoSound PLC009 sound card with remote control capability using a Peter Spoerer remote control unit (not supplied).

Switches in the rear bunker control guard's whistle and safety valve sounds and exhaust on/off.
