5 inch gauge Hunslet "Waril" class 0-4-0WT with driving truck

A 5 inch gauge Maxitrak "Jack", based on the Hunslet "Waril" class 0-4-0WT - "Jack" is now preserved at the Armley Mills Industrial Museum in Leeds.

Run for some years on a garden railway, the engine has suffered cosmetically from poor storage - basically it needs repainting - however it's in good order mechanically, boiler is sound and it runs well - there's a clip of it running soon after it arrived here. A worthwhile renovation, to my eyes the prototype remains one of the prettiest narrow gauge locomotives built.

Silver soldered copper boiler by Cheddar, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector and crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump on the footplate. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, pole reverser in the cab, mechanical lubricator.

The engine comes complete with a large bogie driving truck, painted in matching livery and fitted with a water tank.

Locomotive 37 inches
Driving truck 52 inches
