5 inch gauge Liverpool & Manchester Railway "Lion"

We sold this one back in 2021 to a long time customer (and owner of both a Stafford and a Feldbahn, man of taste that he is), it's recently come back having been on display in his house since last steamed in these works. Condition is pretty much unchanged - pictures opposite and words below are from last time it was here, the video below was taken in recent days.

A well-built 5 inch gauge Liverpool & Manchester Railway "Lion", to LBSC's "Titfield Thunderbolt" design.

The work of a highly experienced builder, with more than twenty locomotives to his credit over a forty year building career, he went on to build a 7 1/4 inch gauge version of the same design which we sold last year.

In good condition, the engine steams freely and runs well. The silver soldered copper boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam tests, with certification issued for same - both pumps and injector work effectively, the injector picking up slightly wet but working efficiently on the run.

One of those designs which looks just as nice displayed in the house as out on the track, its compact size making for an easy to handle engine. For now, this one will be compactly enhancing our house...
