5 inch gauge LMS 5XP "Jubilee" 4-6-0

A part-dismantled 5 inch gauge LMS Jubilee, 5696 "Arethusa", which has come to us from the family of a long-time customer of ours.

I first saw it, in the same condition, back in 2014 when we delivered a new Feldbahn to the owner. A man of eclectic tastes and considerable energy, his workshop at the time played host to a number of interesting engines (including the Boston & Albany tank and 5 inch gauge Midland 4-4-0 we sold earlier in the year).

Well built to a highly detailed design, the three cylinder engine is largely complete, apparently missing only some fittings and front running boards.

It turns over freely and runs well on air; the boiler has had a recent twice working pressure hydraulic test with certification issued for same.

Not a great deal of work to put this one back into working order; it will make a good example of this rarely modelled prototype.
