5 inch gauge LNER B1

A 5 inch gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design. Completed forty years ago and unsteamed from new, it's spent the last thirty years sitting on a hall table in a rectory in Suffolk.

A well built engine, machining and platework are all to a high standard, fit and finish of the motionwork and valve gear is good. The engine runs well in both directions, there's some video of it running on air outside the works here.

Paintwork remains bright, in good condition.

The boiler is well made with neatly flanged plates and good solder penetration. It has had a hydraulic test - structurally sound and dry throughout bar a single pinhole leak at the inner dome which will require repair.
