5 inch gauge "Maid of Kent" 4-4-0

A 5 inch gauge 4-4-0 to LBSC's popular "Maid of Kent" design, this one in our favourite variant of inside cylinders and Joy valve gear.

An older engine in running order - we found it steamed freely and ran well once underway - but now needing some basic servicing to bring it up to scratch. This could be done between runs, or as part of winter maintenance and includes:

• service leaky regulator
• repack glands
• replace front cylinder cover gaskets
• service/replace injector which proved unreliable

The commercially built CE marked boiler by Western Steam has club history, with current hydraulic and steam test certificates.
