5 inch gauge "Maid of Kent" 4-4-0

We sold this one earlier in the year to a local beginner dipping his toes into the hobby - it's come back to us as he moves on to pastures new. It's been in storage for a few months, but is otherwise untouched from when we shipped it in May.

A 5 inch gauge "Maid of Kent", recently emerged from a shed where it's lain for many years in less than ideal conditions. Built in outside cylinder, Stephensons gear, "Midland Compound" form, it needs complete restoration.

Boiler is untidy although apparently silver soldered throughout as far as we can see. It carries the number "CE1234" - whether coincidence or a misguided attempt to burnish its credentials with a nod towards European approval we don't know, but the boiler was assuredly not commercially built (and it's certainly not CE marked!)
