5 inch gauge "Maid of Kent" rolling chassis and tender

An early stage 5 inch gauge 4-4-0 to LBSC's "Maid of Kent" design, built as the inside cylinder variant with the beginnings of Stephenson's valve gear.

Work to date comprises a rolling chassis with cylinder assemblies including valve chests, spindles, pistons, rods, crosshead and guide bars. The crank axle has connecting rods and valve eccentric sheaves fitted.

The tender is well-advanced, requiring pipework and brakes to complete.

Stored for many years, anything painted is grubby, anything left bright has light surface rust which would clean off readily.
