5 inch gauge Maxitrak Baldwin battery electric shunter

A 5 inch gauge Maxitrak Baldwin battery electric shunter; a large, robustly built locomotive, featuring all steel chassis and bodywork.

This one has come to us along with the track and rolling stock from a garden railway - in good condition, it appears to have had light use from new.

Rated to pull eight adults, with twin bogies it's ideally suited to garden layouts with tight curves - the manufacturer rates it for a minimum radius of eight feet.

Powered by eight 60W motors - four per bogie - with gear drive to the wheels.

Complete with a pair of batteries, it's in good running order, with working lights and horn.
