5 inch gauge "Metre Maid" 0-6-0ST

A 5 inch gauge "Metre Maid", 0-6-0 variant of the ever-popular "Sweet Pea" 0-4-0ST, complete with four-wheeled tender.

Fitted with with commercially built copper boiler by Cheddar, it has had recent hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.

In running order, it has a variety of jobs requiring attention which could be done whilst continuing to use the engine, including:

• Service nearside water gauge which gives false reading
• Check/adjust valve settings to improve reverse running
• Repack pistons which blow by
• Make/fit draincock linkage
• Service/replace injector water valve on tender

On the positive side all water feeds work well, the pop-type safety valves are highly efficient.
