5 inch gauge Metropolitan battery electric

A 5 inch gauge Metropolitan Railway battery electric locomotive, the work of an award-winning model engineer, responsible for many other models including the Crebbin Cup winning 5 inch gauge Shay we sold last year, 5 inch gauge "Tich", gauge 1 "Merchant Navy" and 2 inch Clayton steam wagon.

The steel chassis runs on a pair of bogies, each driven by a 24 volt vertically mounted motor with bevel gear driven countershaft, chain drive to axles. Body is in fibreglass with working lights front and rear.

Complete with handset, the locomotive is in good condition although requires a pair of batteries. Tested, it runs well in both directions.
