5 inch gauge Midland Spinner

A finely made 5 inch gauge Midland "Spinner", up to air running stage and largely complete, requiring a tender and paintwork to finish.

Work to date is to a high standard throughout, with crisp machining and beautifully formed platework which does full justice to the flowing lines of the prototype.

The boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test with certification issued, the chassis runs on air down to 10psi - beautifully in forward gear with crisp, even exhaust beats, slightly choppy in reverse although would improve under steam.

We liked the chassis detailing - the mechanical lubricator driven via an elegantly executed linkage from an eccentric mounted on the front bogie axle, the extended oilers on the valve eccentrics to aid maintenance - the marks of a well thought-out build.

Supplied with tender drawings and a livery data sheet.
