5 inch gauge Neilson & Co 0-4-0ST

A beautifully made 5 inch gauge Neilson & Co. 0-4-0 "Coffee Pot" of 1874, built to the David Malcolm design serialised as "Gemma" in "Engineering in Miniature" magazine.

Work is to an exceptional standard throughout; fit and finish of machined parts is excellent - we like the taper pins securing lifting arms to the weighshaft - platework all very crisply formed.

The copper boiler is neatly flanged and put together with good solder penetration, firebox stays are nutted and calked. It's had a twice working pressure hydraulic test for 80psi working, with certification issued for same.

The locomotive requires work to finish including steam pipes to cylinders, provision of pipework and fittings for the boiler and a lubricator, with the potential to make a very fine model of this attractive Victorian locomotive.

If you need something larger, we've recently had one of these arrive in 7 1/4 inch gauge as well.
