5 inch gauge part-built LNER B1 4-6-0

A well-advanced 5 inch gauge LNER B1 to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design and comprising an air-running chassis, copper boiler and part-built tender.

Whilst finish is in places "off the machine" with no attempt to polish or smooth edges, fit is good - the chassis turns over smoothly without tight spots and runs in either direction on air. Some time spent with files and emery would repay the effort.

The boiler appears well made, with neatly formed plates and good solder penetration. Firebox is bushed for a fusible plug.
