5 inch gauge Polly I 0-4-0T

A good example of a Polly I 0-4-0T, handsomely finished in a lined out umber and green livery. Elegantly modified, with longer than standard frames, it has a very appealing silhouette with - to our eyes - something of the Southwold Railway about it.

An older engine, it remains in good condition and runs particularly well. The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued, feed is by injector and axle pump with an auxiliary hand pump.

Robustly built, free-steaming and forgiving of less than expert driving and firing, the smaller Polly locomotives make an ideal first engine for those new to live steam.
